The Stewardship Committee at St Machar's are keen to support the ideals of good Stewardship. We have followed the Church of Scotland's Stewardship 4 Programme, which is concerned with the way in which Individual Christians and the Church as a whole use God's gifts.
Stewardship plays a very important role in the life of the Church. Many people tend to associate Stewardship with raising money for the Church but please be assured that there is more to Stewardship than just that. Finance of course does play an important role but God's gifts of Time, Talent and Creation are also vital elements in the role of good Stewardship. A warm welcome awaits all those who visit our Cathedral. We do hope that you will find our website to be informative and that one day you will be able to visit us at our Cathedral.
Finance
Our magnificent building requires regular maintenance and sensitive restoration. Perhaps you will be surprised to learn that we receive no financial support from either local, or central government. Our continuing ministry is therefore fully dependent on the generous support of people like you.
We always welcome donations and legacies, no matter their size, from members of our congregation, the Friends of St Machar's, other charities, commercial organisations, or from individuals who have been inspired by our wonderful place of worship and what we do here.
If you would like to help please send a cheque, (payable to St Machar's Cathedral) to:

Time
The gift of time is a precious one. Many of us no doubt feel that there are not enough hours in the day to do everything that we would like to do. On certain instances that is undoubtedly true but the Stewardship Committee encourages everyone to explore the use of their time.
Time spent with family and friends, time for ourselves, time spent at work, time for recreation, time for Church, time for God, time for your local community are all important issues but do we have the correct balance ? If you feel that you are able to offer some of your time to assist us in the running of the Cathedral, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us. If anyone can spare a few hours a week to help run the Cathedral shop, or to offer a warm welcome to our visitors, or to assist in the running of the Church Hall, then we would like to hear from you. Please click on the links for the Cathedral Shop, or the Church Hall for further information.
Talents
We all have talents, though many of us probably do not realise this. The Stewardship Committee is keen to identify those talents, our skills and strengths and to offer these for the work of the Church. Perhaps in these difficult economic conditions you struggle to donate money to the Church, or to increase your level of giving's but do you have any skills, or strengths, or ideas which can be put to use for the good of the Cathedral ? If so, then we would really like to hear from you.
Creation
We are the Stewards of God's Creation.
