Rev Dr. Alan Falconer is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen in Arts and Divinity, his first ministerial role was as assistant in St. Machar's from 1972 to 1974.

 

He left Aberdeen to go to the Irish School of Ecumenics in Dublin, acting successively as lecturer, senior lecturer, and Director, before joining the World Council of Churches in Geneva in 1995, where he has been Director of the Commission on Faith and Order, negotiating the resolution of the churches' historical theological differences.

 

He has returned to Scotland with a world view of the church and our part within it.
